Red Vision Kit for RedBoard Assembly

Now that we're familiar with the Vision Kit's Camera Board andTouch Display and have the updated firmware installed on the RedBoard IoT - RP2350, it's time to connect everything.

Standard Assembly for Touch Display

First mount the Touch Display onto the RedBoard IoT - RP2350. Align the Touch Display's headers to the matching headers on the RedBoard IoT and plug it in like the photo below:

Next, connect the Camera Board to the Touch Display by plugging the 2x9 header on the Camera Board into the 2x10 header on the Touch Display. IMPORTANT: Make sure to align the Camera Board to the "LEFT" side of the 2x10 header on the Red Vision Touch Display like the photo below shows:

Now that everything is connected to the RedBoard IoT, plug the RedBoard into your computer over USB-C.

Alternative Assembly for External Display

If you've got the version of the Red Vision Touch Display (Without Display) you can output video to an external display like an HDMI monitor with a couple of extra parts and assembly steps. We'll be showing how to use the HSTX connector on the RedBoard IoT - RP2350 to convert the signal to an HDMI output.

Start by connecting the RedBoard IoT and HSTX to DVI Breakout together using the ribbon cable. Take care to insert the contact side of the ribbon cable in the right orientation indicated on the RedBoard:

Next, mount the Touch Display on the RedBoard. Align the Touch Display's headers to the matching headers on the RedBoard IoT and plug it in like the photo below:

Lastly, connect the RedBoard IoT to your computer over USB-C and the HSTX to DVI Breakout to your monitor or other external display over HDMI:
